John Flavin is the Founder and CEO of Portal Innovations. He launched Portal in 2020 to help bring wet lab space to emerging life sciences ecosystems across the U.S. Over the course of his career, John has successfully raised more than $400 million of private and philanthropic capital to fund the development of transformative organizations.
John is a proven leader with a track record of bringing valuable corporate, academic, and civic enterprises from concept to reality, including Advanced Life Sciences, Chicago Innovation Mentors, MATTER, and the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Chicago. John is Co-Founder and Chairman of Pyxis Oncology, Executive Chairman of ClostraBio, and Board member at Grove Biopharma.
John is a frequent contributor on CNBC and Bloomberg TV where he talks about the state of the biopharma market. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Marquette University and an M.B.A. from Lewis University.
