Kristine Pelton
Facility Director
Kristine Pelton joined the Robert J. and Nancy D. Carney Institute for Brain Science in March of 2022. She has over 15 years of academic research experience focused on preclinical drug development and biomarker-based clinical trials. In her role as Facility Director, Kristine oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility and provides consultations on study design, data analysis, protocol development and grant proposals. The facility's capabilities include running commercially available assays as well as novel assay development, and will be used primarily to support clinical research and fundamental discovery projects related to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

This presentation will highlight the capabilities of the Center for Alzheimer’s Disease Research Fluid Biomarkers Laboratory and its role as a unique research resource for Rhode Island’s growing neuroscience and life sciences ecosystem. Kristine Pelton will provide an overview of the laboratory’s infrastructure, expertise, and capabilities in fluid biomarker research, and discuss how these resources can support researchers, clinicians, and life science companies advancing new approaches to the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related neurological conditions.
