Rhode Island Startup Week is an annual celebration of innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration in Rhode Island. This week-long event brings together the community of change-makers who promote and support the growth of startup businesses in our region. Featuring startup showcases, workshops, pitches, speakers, and opportunities for networking, Rhode Island Startup Week spotlights the entrepreneurial spirit which thrives in our state and showcases the incredible innovation happening here.
Sometimes we need to be reminded to step back and appreciate the great things we’ve accomplished – especially those things that are hard. And, starting a business is no picnic.
Rhode Island Startup Week is the result of a successful Rhode Island Startup Day in 2019 that was produced by the Rhode Island Coalition of Entrepreneurs (led by Pat Sabatino and a board of active entrepreneurs). In 2020, that day became a weekend thanks to RIHub, Rhode Island’s Innovation Hub. And, for the past four years, RIHub continues to power a full week of celebration and collaboration for entrepreneurs across the state.
Rhode Island Startup Week is for everyone! We are all impacted by the incredible innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that shapes our everyday lives. Are you thinking about becoming an entrepreneur? Then, Rhode Island Startup Week is for you. Have you ever started a business, created something unique, supported an entrepreneur, then Rhode Island Startup Week is for you, too. Entrepreneurs, students, investors, researchers, corporate-types, community members – Rhode Island Startup Week is for you.
You can! Organizations that support entrepreneurs, Corporations, Universities and Colleges, entrepreneurs or the Community at large are welcome to host an event. These events should feature something related to innovation and entrepreneurship and are led by each group. RIHub supports each event by managing the Rhode Island Startup Week website, producing the overall week and promoting all events from every organization.
If you like learning about new technologies, meeting interesting people, or sharing impactful ideas, then Rhode Island Startup Week is the place to be. From being the first state to declare independence, to birthing the textile industry in the US, to inventing the steam engine, Rhode Island has proven that despite its small footprint, it’s a place where great ideas come to life.
